How to do it
- Open Remove pauses and drop your file in, or pick it from your device. It stays on your device.
- Check the settings. Pick how tight to cut — only long pauses, pauses over half a second, or a jump-cut style — and whether ums and uhs go too. Then check the cuts: tap any one to keep that part.
- Press Run, then preview and download the result.
How the cuts are found
Pauses are measured from the sound itself: any stretch quieter than speech that lasts longer than your setting is marked, with a short breath left on both sides so words never get clipped. Dead air at the start and end goes entirely.
Filler words — um, uh, erm, and their Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian equivalents — are found by speech recognition that runs in your browser, with the timing of every word. Drawn-out sounds between words that the recogniser skips are caught as hesitations.
Nothing is cut until you've looked. The review shows every cut coloured by type, and the preview plays the result by jumping over them, so you hear exactly what you'll get. Keep any cut you disagree with, or switch a whole type off.
Picture and sound are cut on the same frames, so the lips stay in sync, and the result keeps your video's resolution.

- Yes. Drop an MP3, WAV or M4A and you get the tightened audio back as M4A.
- Is my recording uploaded?
- No. Silence detection, speech recognition and the final cut all run in your browser. Only the timings of the cuts go to our server.
- Can I keep some of the pauses?
- Yes. Before anything is made you see every cut; tap one to keep that part, or choose Only long pauses for a gentler edit.
- Which languages are understood?
- Filler words are recognised in English, Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian. In any other language, pauses and drawn-out hesitations are still found, since they're measured from the sound.
- How long can the recording be?
- Up to 30 minutes per file.
