How to do it

Lossless when it can be
If you pick M4A and the video's audio is already AAC, which it is for most phone and camera recordings, the audio is copied bit for bit. It's instant and there's no quality loss.
WAV and FLAC give you lossless files for editing in a DAW. MP3 and Opus trade a little quality for much smaller files.

- Which format is best?
- MP3 plays everywhere. M4A is best when the source is AAC because it can be copied losslessly. WAV or FLAC are for editing, and Opus gives the smallest voice files.
- Can I cut out just part of the audio?
- Trim the video first with the Trim tool, then extract the audio from the shorter clip.
- Does my video get uploaded?
- No. Everything happens on your device.
